Elgin Fringe Festival

The Elgin Fringe Festival is one of many Fringe Festivals that happen across North America and Europe. “The mission of the Elgin Fringe Festival is to encourage bold artistic experimentation and innovation by providing an accessible, affordable experience for both artists and audiences alike.”
It was an honor to be asked to create this fall’s promotional poster and graphics. Due to concerns about the pandemic, this festival will have a large virtual component. The goal of this design was to communicate that The Fringe would continue to be a event filled with innovative and accessible creativity, and will also be “inside”. Elgin, being a historic city, provides a perfect opportunity to highlight the ornate architecture as a backdrop for this artistic event.

This alternative horizontal design was created to accommodate formats that do not allow for vertical art. It has the same feel as the vertical poster, but more compact.
The Elgin Fringe Festival creates buttons for each Fringe, so developing a circular option was very important!
